According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is a "state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."

The promotion and protection of mental health and well-being are public health priorities embedded within one of the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the UN, which seeks to reduce premature mortality from noncommunicable diseases and to promote mental health and well-being.

How can the built environment take into account people suffering from mental illnesses in terms of physical spaces, fit out and services? How can we design, build and operate buildings in all sectors - health, residential, offices, education... - to tackle this topic?
