Fee description
WELL Rating opt-in with simultaneous documentation submission
Complimentary ($0)
Project teams can opt-in to WELL Ratings at no additional charge, as long as the project's precertification or certification documentation review aligns with documentation submission for the WELL Rating in question. Simply submit documentation for both WELL Certification and a WELL Rating simultaneously, for both review rounds (preliminary and final).
WELL Rating opt-in with separate documentation submission

Project teams looking to opt-in to WELL Ratings and submit documentation for the rating outside of precertification or certification documentation review can do so at a reduced rate of $3,000 per rating.
WELL Precertification
$0.05/ sq ft (Starting at $3,000 with a maximum of $25,000). WELL Precertification fees are credited toward the project's overall certification fees
Projects registered for WELL v2 may opt for an early phase review, which results in the WELL Precertification designation. This interim designation can help projects communicate progress toward achieving WELL Certification and provide greater confidence that their designs, operational intents and/or existing conditions meet WELL feature requirements.
Recertification for WELL Certified projects
$0.05/ sq ft (Starting at $6,000 with a maximum of $30,000)
WELL Certification is valid for three years from the date of the certification award letter. In order to maintain certification after that time, a project must apply for recertification and performance verification to confirm that the building still meets feature requirements.
Recertification for WELL Core and industrial projects
$0.03/ sq ft (Starting at $6,000 with a maximum of $30,000)
WELL Core Certification or WELL Certification for industrial buildings is valid for three years from the date of the certification award letter. In order to maintain certification after that time, a project must apply for recertification and performance verification to confirm that the building still meets feature requirements.
Curative action review

Re-testing fees are additional and vary depending on the size of the project, the number of sample locations that did not pass WELL feature requirements and local lab fees. These custom fees must be requested from the performance testing agent.
Appeals

Project teams may submit new features for review after the final review stage, or challenge any findings in the documentation or performance review stages by submitting an appeal application. For new feature reviews, there is a fee for each feature addition. For review result challenges, fees are not charged up front and will not be issued subsequently if the merits of the challenge are found to be valid.

Scheduling and performance testing with an approved Performance Testing Organization

If final documentation review is complete, expedited PV will be scheduled within 3 weeks of the date of the initial request. If the project has submitted for final doc review, however the review is not complete, expedited performance testing can be scheduled to occur within 2 weeks of anticipated return of doc review. If clarifications arise during the final review, it may result in the performance testing needing to be rescheduled at a later date. All reviews (documentation, AAP, EP, etc. must be complete before performance testing begins). Performance testing may not be scheduled prior to the project submitting for final documentation review.
